On Sunday 17th October, the Wolfson Amref Group will be hosting our usual Amref Tea to give both current and incoming Wolfsonians an opportunity to learn a little more about the work the Wolfson Amref Group does and to meet some friendly faces.

In addition to the usual refreshments, we are very excited to be hosting the following panel of speakers from Amref:

Eilidh Naismith, Amref UK's fundraising assistant and will be attending in person to provide a general introduction to Amref and the student bursary programme.

Dr. Josephat Nyagero, Dean of Students at Amref International University (AMIU) and will present remotely on AMIU/the Diploma in Community Health (DCH) course.

A student from the DCH course will present remotely on their experience of the course and the impact it has had.

The presentations will then be followed by a Q&A session facilitated by Eilidh.

The event will take place 1-4pm on Sunday 17th Oct in the Upper Common Room (UCR), with the presentations and Q&A currently expected to take place between 1:30 - 2:30pm. The event is free (donations to Amref welcome) and plenty of sandwiches, cakes and hot/cold drinks will be provided.

The event is open to all, and it would be wonderful to see many Wolfsonians there!

A temporary display of the College's Design Project 2019 is available to be viewed in the Upper Common Room for members. Come and join us for an informal talk about the project on Tuesday 19 November 2019 from 13:00 to 13:30 in the UCR. 

All are warmly invited to join the AMREF team for Afternoon Tea in the UCR. In the light of International Mother Language Day which takes place on 21 February 2019, we invite you to bring cake, snacks and sweets from your own country to share with each other! 

£1.25 donation for a slice of cake plus tea/coffee, charged on Bod card or through cash donations. All proceeds go to AMREF Health Africa.

BMEtea is a social event welcoming all self-identifying BME (Black and Minority Ethnicity) students and partners/children at Wolfson College. This event will be a chill gathering for BME students to meet and support one another. It will also be a chance for you to voice any suggestions for BME-related initiatives and events you want to see happen for next term. We'll have a sign in the UCR and there will be tea and desserts!
