Guest Nights & Formal Hall

Guest Nights and Formal Halls are three-course meals, open to all members of College and Common Room. Both dinners can be booked using the Wolfson Gateway booking system.

Booking Dates:

Bookings for Guest Nights open shortly before 0th week of each term.

Formal Hall bookings open on the Friday two weeks prior to each dinner.  Formal Halls in Michaelmas are on 22 Oct, 26 Nov and 10 Dec.

Please also read the notes about cancellation fees under each dinner type below.

Guest Nights

Guest Night dinners are elaborate, served formal dinners, with wines. They provide a convivial atmosphere and the chance to meet other Wolfsonians. Dress code is smart, academic gowns are not worn, and ties are optional.

In Michaelmas 2021, Guest Nights will take a temporary new format, with space allocated to new students.  This will replace the usual, large New Student Dinners as well as allowing members to attend as usual.

Covid 19 has forced us to make the dinners much smaller than usual, so places will be very limited.  To make up for this, there will be two dinners per week, instead of the usual one per week.    Places will still be open to all members of College and Common Room, but these will be limited. Please see the table below for the conditions and prices for your category of membership.

Guest Night dinners take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time.  Pre-dinner drinks are normally at 7.00 pm, followed by dinner at 7.30 pm.

Book for guest nights using your single-sign-on via the Wolfson Gateway, where you can also see each night's menu.

If you have any queries, please email catering.administration@wolfson.ox.ac.uk.
