'Words to be Looked At' is an exhibition in display cases across Wolfson, featuring text-based artworks by students and alumni of the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, an art school with a world-leading reputation. The display celebrates the ways in which young artists are turning to text within their artistic work. Diverse approaches include artist books, poetry, code, performative writing, print and creative investigations of the material properties of books, and includes work by noted artists Matt Copson, Alvaro Barrington and Siobhan Coen. The exhibition presents a diverse and international approach to questions of language, memory, silence, translation, untranslatability and the act of speaking. Visitors can obtain a list of works and map from the Lodge. All works in the Library Breakout area can be handled and read.

This event is for everyone looking for a regular scheduled time to come together and just write. We will meet as a group to write in three spurts of 30 minutes with 10 minutes in between each session for a break and to discuss and process our writing sessions. We will meet in the room opposite the library entrance.

Rules:
1) Keep distractions minimal during each of the 30 minute writing spurts, i.e., no social media, talking, e-mail, phone usage, or surfing that is not directly related to your writing.
2) Please try to join the group before the start of any of the three 30 minute writing spurts (9 am; 9:40 am; 10:20 am) to reduce distractions. If you join while a writing session is on-going please settle-in and start writing.
