The launch of their Spring campaign was held at Clarence House on Friday 8 March. The campaign aims to shine a light on the female health workers saving and changing lives across Africa, demonstrating the lasting change that is made possible when health is in the hands of women.

The event was hosted by Amref's long-time Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales, who first visited Amref's work in Kenya in 1971 and has supported their community driven, African-led approach to health ever since.

Ryan Walker, a DPhil Candidate in Clinical Medicine, said he was "delighted to be offered the opportunity to attend the event on behalf of the College and promote some of the excellent work that Wolfson does. Everyone I spoke to was extremely interested to hear of the work done by the College, whether it be our fundraising efforts (including the weekly coffee shop and newly-started pub quiz), or our direct support provided to projects such as the Wolfson-Amref Bursary and recently, the 'Health for Young People' project. Additionally, many were particularly impressed by the longstanding relationship we have with Amref, even HRH The Prince of Wales himself, as our association with Amref has been almost as long as his tenure as patron."
