Eco couriers come to Wolfson

Pedal & Post works with all the main couriers, so all you need to do when ordering items online is: 

• Enter the Pedal & Post address when ordering an item to be delivered to you (not the Wolfson College address!)

This is a trial for regular-sized packages – not envelopes or anything large like a fridge or a sofa. If you urgently need same day delivery, or you’re ordering something large, use the Wolfson College address as normal. 

The idea is to cut emissions and make it safer for cyclists and pedestrians around the college, as we’ll have one daily delivery by cargo bike, rather than a regular stream of vans.  

Pedal & Post has run successful trials across Oxford including with the John Radcliffe Hospital, an environmental conservation trust, Daily Info, as well as another school and several local businesses. As a pioneering college, we’re thrilled to add their innovative services to our bank of sustainable initiatives.  

While we’ve eliminated carbon emissions from our main estate, we're still working on the houses in roads surrounding our main estate. Once that work is done, we'll still have a carbon footprint of 146 tonnes per year. This is made up of our Scope 3 emissions produced through behaviour and supply chains, which includes 75 deliveries by van per week. Pedal & Post will consolidate that into one, emission-free.  

Scope 3 is an endless task; until we stop eating and travelling entirely, there will be some residual emissions. So rather than offsetting, which leans on spending rather changing, we’re investing in further energy saving measures like this.
