The sculpture was installed in the Wolfson Garden on Thursday 10 September.

The sculpture was commissioned following a funded bequest from Professor Geoffrey Garton. It is in memory of his late wives Natalie Garton and Kay Garton, who were both keen gardeners. Former Bursar Geoffrey Garton left the College an endowment, the income from which is being used to support the gardens, the newly named Garton Creative Artist Fellowship, and funds for music and art in College.

Rob Ward, the artist behind the new sculpture, makes monumental works in stainless steel, bronze and occasionally stone. His work focuses on the connection between space and mind. His sculptures are places where the object directly communicates with the landscape and people. He is particularly interested in the role of the artist as constructor of objects.
