Junior Research Fellow Salam Rassi has been published by Oxford University Press following his research at Wolfson College.

The book is based on Salam's doctoral research, which took place during his time as a DPhil student at Wolfson College. Salam returned to Wolfson as a British Academy-funded Junior Research Fellow in 2018 and has since turned his book into a monograph, published by Oxford University Press with the title Christian Thought in the Medieval Islamicate World.

It is the first major study of the writings of the churchman and polymath Abdisho of Nisibis (d. 1318) and his social, cultural, and religious context. It focusses on Abdisho's engagement with Muslim thought and his contribution to an apologetic theology that emerged from Christianity's earliest contacts with Islam. Salam's book will be of interest to scholars and students of Syriac and Arabic-speaking Christianity, in addition to historians of medieval Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions.
