Wolfson is pleased to announce the endowment of the travel award set up by the late Dr Roger and Mrs Fay Booker.

The endowment has been made possible thanks to a generous legacy from Mrs Booker. The Roger and Fay Booker Materials Science Travel Award is offered annually to a member of Wolfson College studying for a graduate degree in Materials Science. The award of £500 is intended to enable the recipient to attend a scientific conference or undertake laboratory work.

Roger Booker became a Fellow of Wolfson in 1975 and was Vicegerent from 1987 to 1989, becoming an Emeritus Fellow on retirement in 1994, when he continued his research in the Department of Materials. He met his wife Fay Booker (MCR) during his time at the Physics Department, Central Research Laboratories, Richard Thomas and Baldwins, Ltd., Whitchurch, Aylesbury.
