President receives Damehood at Buckingham Palace

Dame Hermione, who was recognised for her services to Literary Scholarship in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2013, was presented with the honour by The Prince of Wales.

Speaking about her award in June, Dame Hermione said: “I am very proud of the honour, both for myself and for my College. At a time when literary scholarship, the Humanities, and the arts, are under such severe challenges, this recognition for my work in literary scholarship is very important to me.”
