Representatives of Wolfson hosted the President of the University of Mosul, Iraq, alongside guests from the Iraqi Embassy on a short visit to Oxford.

This morning Wolfson was delighted to welcome a delegation of visitors from the University of Mosul, Iraq, led by its President, Professor Kossay Kamalaldeen Al-Ahmady. The delegation was accompanied by guests from the Iraqi Embassy and met Jacob Dahl, Professor of Assyriology, Dr Mootaz Salman, Research Lecturer in Pharmacology and an alumnus of Mosul University, and Dr Huw David, Development Director, for a discussion of Wolfson’s decarbonization project and opportunities for partnership between the College and the University. The delegation described the rebuilding of the University and its library after the destruction wrought by the Isis occupation of Mosul between June 2014 and January 2017.

Later, the delegation met experts in Assyriology from Wolfson and the Ashmolean Museum and discussed collaborative exchanges in the field.
