Earlier this Michaelmas term, Wolfson hosted Lord David Frost, former Chief Negotiator for Exiting the European Union, for a discussion on the UK’s future following Brexit.

Lord Frost was in conversation with Sir Tim Hitchens, President of the College, and Professor Anne Deighton, Emeritus Fellow of the College and specialist in the contemporary history of Europe and its political integration. Their discussion ranged across the UK’s historical relationship with the EU, the entwined issues of democracy, national sovereignty, referenda and populism, and where the UK might go following Brexit. Questions were also taken from the audience of 150 in attendance at the Leonard Wolfson Auditorium.

The full discussion is now available to view on Wolfson’s YouTube channel.

The conversation with Lord Frost took place as part of a wider programme of events reflecting Wolfson’s commitment to tackling difficult questions. This term, these events have included a discussion between the MP Ben Bradshaw and the Reverend Judith Maltby on the place of religion in the university and society, and a film screening and discussion centred on the Windrush scandal. These events will shortly be available on YouTube.
