Holiday Closure Dates 2019

The Lodge

The Lodge will be closed for business on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 December from 15:00 although there will be staff available at the lodge for emergencies such as fire alarms, maintenance issues and lock-outs.

Minibus 

The Minibus will be running until 15:00 from Tuesday 17 December 2019 (no afternoon/evening service) until Friday 20 December. It will not run during the College holiday closure. The minibus will also run until 15:00 on Thursday 2 January and Friday 3 January. 

Service will be back to normal from 6 January 2020.

Academic Office

The Academic Office will be closed from Saturday 21 December to Wednesday 1 January inclusive.

Accommodation Office

The Accommodation Office will be open until lunchtime Friday 20 December. There will be reduced staffing on 19 and 20 December.

IT Office

The IT Office will be closed between 23 December 2019 and 1 January 2020 inclusive. IT services will run again on 2 January 2020.

Food in Hall

12 December - No informal lunch or dinner. This is to allow the staff to enjoy their Christmas Lunch. We apologise for any inconvenience.
20 December - Informal brunch replaces lunch. This is the last meal of the year, and all are welcome.

Over the break: UCR open, but coffee will not be available.
2 January 2020: Normal Catering services fully resumed. 

The Welfare Team has organised two events: A potluck for Christmas and a New Year's Eve celebration with a potluck and party in the Wolfson Cellar Bar. Click here to let us know your availability.

The Café

The Café will be closed from 21 December 2019 to 1 January 2020.

The Café will close early on the following dates: 

12 December: closing 11:30. 
20 December: closing 11:30.

The Café will reopen on 2 January 2020.

The Library

The Library remains open throughout the holidays, however due to essential maintenance work the Library Spaces (Jessup, Floershiemer and Hornik Rooms) will be closed from Friday 20 December 2019 until Wednesday 1 January 2020. The Academic Wing Reading Room will be open as usual and extra seating will be provided. The Library breakout space will be unaffected. With no access to these spaces including the carrels over this period, please make sure you take books or any other items you need for your studies from these spaces before Friday 20 December. 

The librarian's last working day is Friday 13 December and is back on Friday 3 January. The library trainee's last working day is 18 December and is back on Thursday 2 January.

The Nursery

The Nursery will be closed over the holidays from 20 December 2019 closing at 12pm, and returning at normal opening hours on 2 January 2020.

Garages under G & H Blocks

You will need to use your garage key to access the garage. Please ensure you lock the garage when leaving or entering.

Bridge to Meadow and Passageway to Garford Road

From 18:00 on Christmas Eve (24 December) until 10:00 on 27 December the bridge and South car park gates will remain locked as well as the garage passage from Linton Road to Garford Road. This is to ensure that no public right of way is established through the College grounds. These areas must not be unlocked during this period.
