Wolfson Telethon 2013 raises over £50,000 for student support

The Development Office worked with a team of seven enthusiastic students and the Annual Giving Team at University Offices, whose support and dedication enabled them to reach hundreds of Wolfsonians over the two weeks.

The campaign began on 4^th January with a discussion of the objectives of the College and the wider University, and training on the calling software to contact as many alumni and friends as possible. The response was wonderful. Many of the Wolfsonians contacted contributed to the Annual Fund and shared some fascinating stories.

One of the student callers, Garlen Lo (MSc Social Anthropology), described the experience: "The success stories and the inspirational advice shared by old Wolfsonians on the phone was a privilege to hear. In helping my College find funding for life-changing scholarships, we are securing the next generation of talented Wolfson students, irrespective of wealth, and thus demonstrating Wolfson's egalitarian and inclusive ethos. This, simply, is what makes me incredibly proud to be called a Wolfsonian."
