The highlight was M3 getting blades in men's division five the result of many years of investment on the men's side of the boat club by bumping St Benet's Hall, Queen's II, Wadham III, and Pembroke III. M4 and W1 each bumped up an impressive three places by bumping St Hilda's II, New II, and St Hugh's II (Wednesday-Friday) and Oriel, Merton, and Hertford (Wednesday-Friday), respectively.

These achievements left M4 sixth in men's divison six and W1 the tenth boat in women's division one. W2, one of our strongest women's second boats in years, bumped up twice by catching St John's II on Wednesday and St Hilda's on Friday and very narrowly missed Lady Margaret Hall on Thursday and Saturday due to them bumping out first.

Despite strong performances from M1 and M2, very powerful crews behind them bumped them down two and three places, respectively. M2 was caught by Jesus II, Brasenose II, and Green Templeton (Thursday-Saturday) in men's division four, while M1 was bumped by Magdalen and Balliol (Wednesday-Thursday) in men's division one.

All in all, WCBC has had a very successful Summer Eights campaign. With the high levels of dedication and commitment shown this year, we can all look forward to another successful rowing season next year!
