The expedition members are composed of seven people from the Seychelles and five people from Oxford. They leave 16 February and will be clearing the coast for six weeks. The team will be working every day in some of the most isolated and hostile terrains to clear this otherwise pristine atoll of plastic pollution.

The project was launched in May 2018 and has reached its fundraising target thanks to a mix of generous sponsors, both corporate and individual. The project is attracting growing international interest and was highlighted at the G7 Summit in 2018 by the president of Seychelles.
