A new research cluster at Wolfson College will unlock the mysteries of the brain and shed light on recent breakthroughs in our understanding of the mind and aspects of human behaviour. The project, entitled the Mind, Brain and Behaviour Research Cluster, which will be officially launched next week with a lecture series on Neuroscience and Education, aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between scholars and practitioners interested in the interaction between mind and brain and the implications of this for behaviour change.

Headed by Professor Glyn Humphreys and comprising leading experts from Experimental Psychology, Psychiatry, and Social Policy and Intervention, the cluster will take an interdisciplinary approach across a wide range of disciplines.

The Mind, Brain and Behaviour Research Cluster will join several other highly successful research clusters which arose under the guidance of the College's President, Professor Hermione Lee. The clusters draw on the outstanding scholarly strengths and interests within the College to foster innovative approaches to interdisciplinary research.

A programme of public lectures called the ‘Wolfson College “Mind” Lecture Series on Neuroscience and Education' will take place over four weeks in Trinity Term. Professor Anne Castles of the Cognitive Science Research Centre, Macquarie University, will give the first lecture in the series on Thursday 25 April, entitled ‘Dyslexia and Cognitive Models of Reading'. Full details of other upcoming events can be found on the MBBC events webpage.
