Bugan returns to Oxford this week to launch her new and selected poems, "Lilies from America", which won a Poetry Society Special Commendation. Her latest collection of poems looks at revisiting and revising memories as it moves from childhood to children growing, but with a reality of state surveillance, abuse and incarceration which fills the poems with urgency.

Bugan was a Creative Arts Fellow in Literature at Wolfson College from 2005 to 2009. She holds a doctorate in English Literature from Balliol College.

You can join the Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre for the launch party at Waterstones Cafe or visit Pembroke College for a reading featuring Carmen Bugan.
