The Fournier Trio, ensemble-in-residence at Wolfson College since September 2011, have been awarded the prestigious Parkhouse Award 2013 which is presented biannually to chamber ensembles of piano and strings whose members have been performing together for at least two years. Previous winners have included the Fauré and Notos quartets, and the duo of violist Nils Mönkemeyer and pianist Nicholas Rimmer. The Fournier Trio, which comprises pianist Chiao-Ying Chang, violinist Sulki Yu, and cellist Pei-Jee Ng, will be granted the opportunity to perform three concerts in major London venues.

Wolfson's contemporary arts scene has been further enhanced this week by the release of Part 1 of the Wolfson Soundscape, created by Creative Arts Fellow John Duggan. Aided by members of the College Community, John Duggan has built a “collage of sounds” of the College, containing samples of “building work for the new auditorium, alongside sounds from the quads and corridors, the dining hall and the grounds”. The work also contains samples from the Alternative Choir and the Isaiah Choir, both based in Wolfson.

Both the Fournier Trio and John Duggan will be exhibiting their work at the Dedication of the New Leonard Wolfson Auditorium on the 6 June.
