Zoë's work demonstrates that over half of the tropical plant specimens in natural history collections around the world are likely to have been incorrectly labelled. Alongside colleagues at the Department of Plant Sciences in Oxford and the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, Zoë has analysed herbarium specimens held at international collections in light of how species names change over time. The team's findings will have major implications for the use of specimen data from natural history collections across the globe.

Zoë is in her third year of postgraduate study and the publication is based upon one of her thesis chapters. Her findings are surprising to say the least and have been featured by the University of Oxford alongside the international media after the publication was released on Monday 16 November. Zoë is also the Environment Representative at Wolfson College.

Zoë has been interviewed for several news agencies and her interviews are available to listen to via the BBC World Service NewshourNPR DC - All things considered and a The Naked Scientists podcast.
