Wolfson welcomes submissions for our second-ever Arts Prize.

After the success of last year's Arts Prize and Creative Writing Prize, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Wolfson Arts Prize will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Wolfson on the Cherwell.

Last year, over 40 people from across the College submitted entries. Through participation in last year's prize, First place winner, Amaia Salazar (featured above) even landed a private exhibition at The North Wall Arts Centre.

Do you have a creative streak? Have you been working on a painting in your spare time? Do you doodle in the back of your notebook? Do you have brilliant photographs hanging around on your computer?

We're looking for visual art from members of the extended Wolfson community in the form of painting, drawing, photography, textiles, sculpture or even experimental film.

Whether you've always been passionate about art or are picking up a paintbrush for the first time, we'd love to hear from you!

A panel of experts from our artistic community will judge the finalists and we’ll display the best works around the college for the remainder of the year. Please note sculptural and textiles works will most likely be displayed in photographic form.

First Prize: £100

Second Prize: £50

Third Prize: £25

The competition is now open for entries. It‘s free to apply and you can submit up to 2 pieces. Please email our Geoffrey Garton Creative Arts Fellow Thomas Brennan at thomas.brennan@wolfson.ox.ac.uk with the subject - ‘ART PRIZE 2024’ and your submissions attached in digital form.
