Wolfson recent alum outlines plans for turning DPhil project into startup

Wolfson alum Dr Mohanad Alkhodari recently passed his viva for the DPhil in Medical Science at the Radcliffe Department of Medicine. His research focused on applying AI to personalised healthcare, particularly in cardiovascular assessment, drawing on his research interests in machine learning, biosignals, bioimaging, and healthcare informatics.

In a recent video, Dr Alkhodari introduces the “HyTwin,” an AI digital twin that models how high blood pressure affects the body. It estimates multi-organ damage through a hyperscore to go beyond standard blood pressure monitoring. He also outlineed his plans to develop HyTwin into a startup to support the NHS and real patients.
