The support of our alumni and friends is vital to Wolfson. We rely on your help to offer our students as much financial support as we can, and to develop the best possible academic and pastoral environment for their study.
You can set up regular online donations or make a single gift with credit or debit card. You can donate online here.

If you make a gift of shares to Wolfson, you can claim tax relief equal to the market value of the shares on the day you make the gift, together with any associated costs such as brokers’ fees. The relief is against your income tax for the year.
For example, a gift to the College of £1,000 worth of shares, made by an individual who is a higher rate taxpayer, would reduce their income tax by up to £500 for the year. Additionally, the benefactor would not have to pay any Capital Gains Tax (CGT) on any increase in the value of the shares since they were bought. If the shares have gone down in value, however, it is not possible to use this loss to offset any other CGT liabilities. For further advice and examples see the HMRC website.
UK taxpayers who are paid under PAYE can maximise regular donations to Wolfson through payroll giving. Gifts made through this scheme are taken directly from the gross pay, giving the benefactor immediate tax relief at the highest rate of tax for which they qualify.
If you are a UK taxpayer and are interested in this method of giving, please request an application form from your employer, detailing your wishes to donate to Wolfson College, Oxford. You may need to quote Wolfson’s charity number: 1141446. The employer will then deduct a gift directly from your salary before tax is applied.
Legacies have made a huge contribution to Wolfson since its earliest days and are vital to its future. By remembering Wolfson in your will, you can make a lasting contribution for generations to come.
Tax-Efficient Ways to Give
Depending on where you live and whether or not you are a taxpayer, there are several ways you can increase the value of your gift to Wolfson.
Making a Gift Aid declaration increases the value of your gift by 25%, courtesy of HM Customs and Revenue. Higher rate taxpayers will get a further deduction from their taxes.
Donations from companies are not eligible for Gift Aid. However, the company can treat the gift as an allowable expense, making a saving on corporation tax.
Please send a cheque to Americans for Oxford, an American 501c3 charity, with clear instructions that it is for Wolfson College (include postal address: Linton Road, Oxford, OX2 6UD). You may also give online via Americans for Oxford.
