1966 Fund
As one of Oxford’s most international and family-friendly college, Wolfson is a special place in which to study, learn and live. Through the Wolfson 1966 Fund – named to reflect the year the College was founded – your support helps our students and post-doctoral fellows to thrive.
Impact of the 1966 fund
In giving to the 1966 Fund you are helping Wolfson in our mission to support students in as many ways as possible.
Your support for the Wolfson 1966 Fund will allow Wolfson to offer:
- Scholarships to allow students to pursue research at Oxford, whatever their financial means.
- Research and travel awards, enabling students to share their work at conferences or do essential lab- or field-work.
- Hardship bursaries for students in unexpected financial distress.
- Assistance with nursery fees for students with children at Wolfson Nursery.
- Better sports, welfare and wellbeing facilities to support students’ physical and mental health, and to foster Wolfson’s special esprit de corps.
- Enhanced library facilities, to ensure Wolfsonians have the latest resources they need.
Gifts at all levels – no matter how large or small – can transform a researcher’s prospects and sustain world-changing expertise. For example:
- £19.66 per month would provide a bursary towards essential fieldwork, archival research or conference costs.
- £196.66 per quarter would fund a hardship award for a student or postdoc in unexpected financial distress.
- £1,966 per year would fund a significant living-expenses scholarship to a student otherwise unable to study at Oxford.

‘Take a seat’ for student support
We are offering an opportunity to our alumni and friends to ‘Take a seat’ for student support. For a donation of £300, the name and/or epigraph of your choice will be inscribed on a disc on the back panel of the chair. We hope you will find naming a chair to be a meaningful way to commemorate a special occasion or loved one.
All proceeds will be allocated to the Wolfson 1966 Fund, our flagship student support fund, to help our outstanding students and postdocs. This will provide scholarships, research and travel awards, and hardship bursaries, and sustain innovative interdisciplinary research. In these difficult times the support of our alumni and friends is more vital than ever.
