New Governing Body Fellows elected
Last week, following the Wolfson College Governing Body TT26 meeting, Sir Tim Hitchens announced the election of two new Governing Body Fellows.
Matthieu Felt will be the new Associate Professor of Premodern Japanese history at Oxford. Matthieu specialises in pre-modern Japanese history, literature and myth. After receiving his Ph.D. in Japanese literature from Columbia University in 2017, Matthieu spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard’s Reischauer Institute for Japanese Studies before moving to the University of Florida. We will welcome Matthieu to Wolfson and to the Governing Body in Michaelmas Term.

Joht Chandan becomes the new Associate Professor of Public Health from 1st July. He is currently Professor of Public Health at the University of Birmingham. His work involves identifying and addressing health inequalities, particularly among underserved and marginalised populations. Alongside his academic work, Joht currently serves as a Special Detective Constable with West Midlands Police, bringing a unique perspective that bridges public health, policing, and community systems.

We warmly welcome Matthieu and Joht and look forward to them joining us in due course.
