Wolfson College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fees and Charges Accounts Assistant to join its Accounts Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance or accounts administration experience, particularly anyone studying towards AAT or looking to develop a career in finance and accounting within the higher education sector. The role is central to the administration of student fees and College charges, providing a professional service to students, colleagues, and external funding bodies.
About the role
Working within a team of five and reporting to the Finance & Payroll Manager, you will support the administration of student fees and battels (College charges), ensuring accurate financial records and excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing student fees, payments, receipts, and financial declarations
- Responding to enquiries from students and external funding bodies
- Monitoring fee and battels accounts and assisting with debtor reporting
- Maintaining postgraduate loan records
- Processing battels receipts and College charges
- Monitoring shared inboxes and responding to queries
- Providing general support within the Accounts Office and cover for colleagues as required
About you
You will have:
- Experience working in an accounts or finance administration environment
- An understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and databases
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
An Accounting Technician qualification and experience within higher education would be advantageous.
