Professor Yuhan Sohrab-Dinshaw Vevaina has taught and conducted research at Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Toronto, and now at the University of Oxford. He is the Bahari Associate Professor of Sasanian Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies where he teaches Old and Middle Iranian languages and offers instruction in the history, religion and culture of Iran in Late Antiquity.

Vevaina’s research interests are in Zoroastrian Middle Persian language, religion, and history. Currently, he is completing a book on Zoroastrian textual traditions and hermeneutical practices in Late Antiquity. He is also interested in questions of Orientalism, boundary maintenance and the Insider/Outsider problem in the study of religion.
