Prof Peter Stewart is Director of the Classical Art Research Centre, which includes the Beazley Archive and a range of other resources, events and projects dedicated to all aspects of Greek and Roman art. He also teaches Greek and Roman art at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including options for the School of Archaeology’s MSt in Classical Archaeology.
Stewart specialises in ancient Roman sculpture and connections between ancient art traditions. His publications include Statues in Roman Society (2003), A Catalogue of the Sculpture Collection at Wilton House (2020), and two general books on Roman art. Current research interests include the dissemination of Graeco-Roman artistic traditions across the Roman Empire and ancient Asia.
