Nicole Votruba

Nicole is a psychologist and political scientist, and senior postdoctoral implementation researcher at the University of Oxford. She is leading the design and implementation of a mental health intervention (PRAMH study) in rural India, as part of the wider global health SMARThealth Pregnancy programme. Nicole completed a PhD at the IoPPN at King’s College London, as part of which she developed a framework for mental health science-policy priority setting in low- and middle-income countries (EVITA 2.0). She has gained experience in research and policy, working on a number of global mental health research studies, as policy officer of the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Health, in the EU Parliament, and as coordinator of the FundaMentalSDG initiative for mental health in the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Her interests are improving global & women’s mental health, science-policy relations, interventions to reduce stigma and discrimination in mental health, and human rights for people with mental health problems.
