Moritz Riede is Professor for Soft Functional Nanomaterials in the Department of Physics. Riede's research interests are renewable energies and energy policy in general and solar cells in particular. 

Before moving to Oxford in 2013, Dr Moritz Riede spent around eleven years in the German academic system, at last working at the Institut für Angewandte Photophysik of the Technische Universität Dresden.

Most recently, Riede was elected as Co-chair of the Global Young Academy.
