Biography
A supporter of decarbonised energy using fusion, Dr Matthew C Levy first came up to Oxford in 2015. He is formerly Isaac Newton professor of physics at Oxford. His remit involves strengthening the Anglo-American relationship. From 2016-2017 he advised Baroness Blackwood, chairman of the house science and technology select committee, at the invitation of The Royal Society. From 2017-2021, he co-chaired The Global Young Academy’s History Working Group. In 2024, Wolfson appointed Matthew the youngest Honorary Fellow in the history of the College. He began his career in Livermore, known for the Livermorium atom and for fusion, the positive energy source of the future.
