Linda Mulcahy is the Director of the Centre for Socio-legal Studies. She has qualifications in law, sociology and art history and her work has a strong inter-disciplinary flavour. She has previously held positions at the LSE; Birkbeck, University of London; Bristol University and the Law Commission. She is a member of the council of JUSTICE and a Visiting Professor at ANU Law School.
Linda’s research interests focus on lay experiences of legal disputes and the legal system and often involves empirical work. Most recently she has written about the relationship between the design of courthouses and the impact that this has on peoples ability to participate in trials.
