I am a qualitative researcher specialising in Conversation Analysis. I currently work on the NewDAWN project to understand communication in healthcare settings and to support people to achieve remission from T2 diabetes. Before joining Oxford in April 2022, I worked on the NIHR Real Complaints study mapping the longitudinal journey of complaining to the NHS in Northern Ireland, and before that I completed my PhD in Social Psychology at Loughborough University. Outside of healthcare research I maintain an interest in how micro-analysis of interaction can help us to understand and challenge hatred and discrimination, and exploring the boundaries of interaction analytic methodologies.
