Dr Caoimhe Twohig-Bennett is Director of Research at the Centre for Global Epilepsy. Caoimhe is responsible for convening, coordinating and driving collaborations and capacity building activities to achieve better care for people living with epilepsy in resource limited settings. Previously, Caoimhe was Director of Research Partnerships at Epilepsy Research UK, later the Epilepsy Research Institute. In that role Caoimhe led the organisation’s research funding programmes, led the UK’s largest patient and public involvement community of people affected by epilepsy and drove the development of the Institute’s core research themes. Prior to this, Caoimhe completed her PhD in public health at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia on the health benefits of exposure to greenspace and obtained a postgraduate diploma in grant making, philanthropy and social investment from Bayes Business School, City University of London.
