I completed my PhD in Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research centers on how syntactic phenomena are affected by other components of the language faculty, such as morphology and semantics/pragmatics. I was previously a researcher at the project “Uncovering Sanskrit Syntax”. I currently carry out research on ancient Indian linguistics and its connections with modern Western linguistics at the LINGUINDIC project (P.I. John J. Lowe). I am also an Odissi dancer (Indian Classical dance) under the tutelage of guru Smt. Kasturi Pattanaik.
