Wolfson SF meets His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

Last month, Dr Mark Merrony, Wolfson Supernumerary Fellow, had an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in his Temple in Dharmsala.

Dr Merrony has long been an admirer of Buddhist art, having travelled to Tibet in the 1980s. Since then, as Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of ANTIQVVS Magazine, Mark has commissioned and written features on Buddhist art, archaeology, and history. This, coupled with his long-held admiration of the Tibetan people, their plight, culture, and heritage has only deepened his interest. 

On a personal level Mark has deep admiration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on advocating peace throughout his lifetime. He believes His Holiness provides pragmatic solutions to worldwide issues as well as one’s wellbeing. It has always been a wish of Mark’s to meet His Holiness, renewed last year during a trip to India.
