Launch of Wolfson Painting Competition 2026

The Wolfson College Arts Sub-Committee is excited to announce the 2026 Painting Competition, inviting submissions from artists working across a wide range of styles and subjects. The competition winner will receive a prize of £6,000 and the winning work will be added to Wolfson’s permanent art collection.

Art has played an integral role in the everyday life of Wolfson since it was founded. The College’s ever-growing collection of modern and contemporary art is home to pieces from artists with both national and international renown, alongside pieces from emerging artists.

The art here at Wolfson contributes to the shared spaces that encourage curiosity and inspire dialogue and reflection. The collection embodies the College’s pioneering spirit with works reflecting modernity, multiculturalism and the challenge of convention.
