Associate Professor of Hindi

Professor Imre Bangha specialises in early Hindi literature from its emergence in the 14th century until the advent of western type modernity in the 19th century.

 

Bangha's major research projects are critical editions of Brajbhasha literature including poetry by Tulsidas, Bajid and Thakur, as well as the mapping of the earliest literary works in Hindi and the study of the shared history of Hindi and Urdu.
