The Spirit of Tibet: Dances from the Roof of the World is being organised by Tibet House Trust UK and the Office of Tibet, London. The event will celebrate the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama – a revered spiritual leader and global symbol of peace, compassion, and non-violence.
The dances will be performed by the artists of TIPA (Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts) based in Dharamshala, India. Founded in exile in 1959, TIPA has spent more than six decades preserving and promoting Tibet’s unique artistic traditions that have been passed down through generations.
By sharing Tibetan culture with the wider world, we celebrate not only its beauty, but also the resilience of a people determined to preserve their identity and heritage.
