This hands-on demonstration will introduce participants to RTI (Reflectance Transformation Imaging) with a portable dome. RTI takes multiple photographs with a changing light source to highlight various aspects of an object. This technique has proven useful for revealing features of an object that are difficult to see with the naked eye. The demonstration will be led by Richard Allen of PalaeoPi (an Oxford University spinout company that specialises in portable digital imaging equipment) and Courtney Nimura (Curator, Ashmolean Museum). They will also discuss their collaboration and some of the benefits and challenges of working with this technology.

Members of the Cluster are invited to the reserved AWRC lunch table in Hall starting at 12.30 to meet Courtney and Richard. Their talk in the Levett Room at 1:15 will be catered with cake and tea/coffee (all welcome).
