Oxford Conservation Volunteers – a charity bringing people together to carry out wildlife conservation projects in our area – will come to Wolfson on Sunday 29th June (meet 9.45am in the South Car Park), as part of a long-term plan to restore Wolfson’s ancient floodplain wildflower meadows.
Commissioned by the College with advice from Wolfson’s very own ecological experts, this plan is happening in stages over a number of years. This summer we’re focusing on replacing fencing to help restore the original hedge boundaries, allowing meadow wildflowers to recover. Floodplain meadows are important for biodiversity, carbon capture, flood mitigation and improving water quality.
