Wolfson College is seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and creative Head Chef, to lead the production and delivery of first-class food at our large, distinguished College. This is an outstanding, long-term opportunity for a successful Head Chef with proven ability, talent and flair to train, lead and inspire a dynamic team to deliver consistently outstanding catering services in a range of formats, including daily lunch and dinner for up to 200 people, formal dining for up to 120 on a weekly basis, VIP events, commercial events, buffets and prestigious lunches.

Wolfson College is home to some of the most talented students and fellows in the world and is increasingly known as one of the most energetic, innovative, and welcoming scholarly communities in Oxford. The catering operation at the College is one of the largest in the University of Oxford. The team cater for over 800 students from 75 different countries, nearly 300 fellows, over 100 staff, and 800 common room members.

The College is very proud of its commitment to delivering a quality catering service. Our ingredient supply chain is focused on using high quality, locally produced ingredients with good, sustainable credentials.

You will have relevant qualifications and solid experience as a Head Chef in an organisation of similar size, which will be one of the following: contemporary British restaurant with awards; a 4 or 5-star hotel restaurant with a fine dining restaurant and banqueting service; or an institutional environment the same or similar to an Oxford or Cambridge college. You will be a strong leader with creativity to implement your vision. You will be supportive and approachable and will have a track record of training and developing your team. You will also have an excellent knowledge of all regulations pertaining to the supply of catering services, and a commitment to sustainability.
