Dr Ina Zharkevich received her doctorate in Development Studies from the University of Oxford in 2014. Her current research looks at how wide-scale male out-migration from rural Nepal reconstitutes kinship, gender, and inter-generational relations in the communities of origin. Prior to joining the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography, Zharkevich worked with Young Lives, Oxford Department of International Development, on issues around childhood, poverty, and life-course in the developing world.

Zharkevich's research interests include South Asia with a focus on Nepal; Anthropology of War and Conflict; Kinship; Transnational Families, and Practice Theory.
