Paul Leeson

Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

College position:

Professor Paul Leeson is a Senior Fellow of the British Heart Foundation and head the Oxford Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility.

His research group uses cardiac and vascular imaging in clinical studies, alongside laboratory-based investigations, to identify and characterise early factors that predispose to the development of cardiovascular diseases, in particular, hypertension. The work aims to identify and trial novel primary prevention strategies. The group has a focus on how preeclampsia and prematurity increases risk of later cardiovascular disease, for both mother and child, as well as how perinatal interventions can modify long term risk in adulthood.
