Congratulations to all those involved in Wolfson’s Zero Carbon Project which was recognised at yesterday’s Vice Chancellor’s Environmental Sustainability Awards.

Ambitious plans were put into action this academic year, when Wolfson set about reducing our carbon footprint by 75% by the end of July 2022.

In recognition of all the hard work that has gone into the project, yesterday we were awarded the 'Environmental Sustainability Project Award' by the Vice Chancellor Louise Richardson at an awards ceremony in the Sheldonian theatre.

The award was collected on our behalf by President Sir Tim Hitchens, who had this to say about the award:

“This has been a transformative experience for Wolfson, turning one of Oxford’s worst emitting colleges into the best performing. It has involved the disruption for many of us who live all year round at college; but it’s also shown that you can reach net zero if you collectively set your mind to it”
