Wolfson Alumnus receives OBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Wolfson would like to send huge congratulations to Alumnus Professor Parveen Yaqoob who has been appointed OBE for services to higher education as part of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations.

Currently Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading and joint Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Professor Yaqoob said of her appointment “I grew up in a culture that actively discouraged education for girls, so I was really lucky to get the chance to go to University. Higher education has given me opportunities that I could have never imagined, and so to pay that back in some small way means the world to me.”
