Jon Stallworthy Prize 2018 Winner Announced

On 18 January 2018, the third award was made of the Jon Stallworthy Poetry Prize for Oxford postgraduate students, at an event held at Wolfson College. The judges for the prize were Simon Armitage (Professor of Poetry) and Bernard O'Donoghue (Wadham College). 

The winner of this year's competition and the £1,000 prize was Alexander Peplow (Merton) for As Things Are. The runner-up was Mary Anne Clark (Merton) for Persephone.

Other short-listed poets were: Bhagya Casaba Somashekar (Merton) for Other Countries, Mary Anne Clark (Merton) for Bathsheba, and Harriet David (Somerville) for For Later.
