Alumnus David Isaac elected Provost of Worcester College

Wolfson congratulates alumnus David Isaac on his appointment as the new Provost of Worcester College.

Isaac will take up the post on 1 July 2021. On the appointment, Isaac said, “I am delighted to be appointed as Provost of Worcester and look forward to working with Students, Staff, Fellows, Old Members and other supporters to work towards widening participation and continuing to promote excellence in all Worcester does.”

Isaac studied socio-legal studies at Wolfson College. He is currently Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, senior partner at the law firm Pinsent Masons, and Chair of Governors at the University of Arts London. In his capacity as chair of Stonewall (2003 to 2012), he advocated for and successfully helped bring about significant legal and social change in the U.K., including the right to civil partnerships and marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
