Kei Hiruta

Dr Kei Hiruta is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Philosophy at Oxford and a non-residential Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in New York City. His research mainly lies at the intersection of political philosophy and intellectual history, with particular interest in the idea of freedom and its history.

Hiruta also writes about contemporary political issues from a normative theoretical angle and am an associate editor of the Journal of Practical Ethics: A Journal of Philosophy, Applied to the Real World. In addition to writing a number of academic papers, He is currently engaged in the centennial project of the Carnegie Council, 'Ethics for a Connected World'.
