Peace processes can promote competing objectives: short-term “war-ending” strategies are often incompatible with the establishment of a long-term democratic peace. A closer look at the Bangsamoro peace process in the Philippines shows how certain peace-making practices, such as negotiating powersharing with armed groups, could institutionalise the exclusion of other stakeholders and lay the groundwork for a fragmented peace.
Prior to her arrival at Oxford, Armi worked as a lawyer at the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) of the Philippines.
