Rozanna Madylus was a winner of the Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform in 2012. Since then, we’ve been delighted to watch her burgeoning career in song and opera, and to welcome her back for this recital. She sings Mahler’s peerless settings of Friedrich Rückert, alongside songs by his wife Alma Mahler. Also included in the programme are songs by Lili Boulanger, the extraordinary talent and first female winner of the Prix de Rome composition prize who died at the age of just 24, and the pioneering English composer and violist Rebecca Clarke.
